This was reccommended by a good friend, Mark Major, who has one of the most exotic and idiosyncratic jobs I’ve ever encountered: lighting architect. Have a browse of his company’s Wiki entry…

Spiers and Major Associates

Hello World is a comprehensive burrow through design and its very impactful relationship on all our lives. An odd ‘take away’ as TV Execs are wont to say these days, is the creative and artistic roster of wonderfully unfamiliar names that feel like crafted design pieces themselves… Ying Zheng, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Joost Grootens, Martí Guixé and Kigge Hvid. I know this sounds like I’m laughing at ‘funny, foreign’ names but I’m not. I’m admiring them. My surname is Miller. What kind of a life would I have carved out for myself as Lászlo Moholy-Nagy?

One name I did recognise (more from my passion of film than my knowledge on design) was Danish designer, Arne Jacobsen. His cutlery was used by both astronauts in Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. Click for my Blu-ray review on Cine Outsider. I’m tempted to get a set as a functioning homage but I’d better earn a bit of money first… Being freelance has its drawbacks…
